i Research: Department of Communication Studies Invitational Scholar Slam
Friday, December 2, 2011 9 am – 12 pm, CL 222
The i Research Scholar Slam is a departmental conference for undergraduates enrolled in Inquiry courses. This is an opportunity for the top students in each Inquiry course to showcase their original research, gain valuable experience presenting their work, and prepare for the Bay Area Undergraduate Communication Research Conference in the spring.
Participating this year we have COMM 145I: Rhetorical and Cultural Criticism; COMM 151I Inquiry in Internet Communication; and Comm 156I Qualitative Communication Inquiry.
Students or teams that earn a Top Three Paper Award for the first research project or submit their second project early (see schedule) and earn very high or perfect scores are invited to present their work. Participants work will be included in the proceedings (papers and/or presentations) in the SJSU ScholarWorks digital repository (http://scholarworks.sjsu.edu/).
All other students are encouraged to attend as the audience.
Presenters and attendees will earn 15 points of EC instead of retaking or making up the final.
